DepEd Launches 21st National Oral Health Month Celebration
Manila, Philippines – The Department of Education (DepEd) has issued Memorandum No. 013, s. 2025, announcing the celebration of the 21st National Oral Health Month. This annual event aims to promote oral health awareness and encourage good dental hygiene practices among students and educators across the country.
The memorandum outlines various activities and programs to be conducted throughout February, including dental check-ups, oral health education sessions, and community outreach initiatives. Schools are encouraged to participate actively and integrate oral health topics into their curriculum to emphasize the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene.
DepEd Secretary emphasized the significance of oral health in overall well-being and academic performance, stating, "Good oral health is essential for our students' success. By promoting proper dental care, we are ensuring that our learners are healthy and ready to achieve their full potential."
The celebration also aims to address common dental issues among children, such as tooth decay and gum disease, by providing preventive measures and treatments. Dental professionals and volunteers will be mobilized to offer free dental services in various schools and communities.
DepEd's commitment to improving oral health is part of its broader mission to enhance the quality of education and the well-being of Filipino students. The department calls on all stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and local government units, to support and participate in the activities of the National Oral Health Month.
